Registering for therapy and wait times

The process for registering is as follows:

Please contact your huisarts for a referral to Pause Psychology. You will need a referral to BGGZ. This is necessary if you wish to receive any reimbursement from your insurance. Your huisarts can refer you directly through a secure system, alternatively they can write you a referral and you can contact me directly.

For all referrals whether for Sarah or another team member, they should be made to Sarah Craig with the following information:

Pause Psychology AGB Praktijk-94064237

Sarah Craig AGB Zorgverlener –94104754

If you choose to go privately you can fill out the contact form and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Once registered there will be a short telephone screening, discussing:

  • whether there is a contract with your health insurance and practical explanations are given about preconditions of therapy such as; reimbursement, waiting times.
  • whether the request for help fits within the offer and expertise of Pause Psychology, as also described on the website.
  • This is followed by 1-3 intake interviews to gain more insight into your complaints. Questionnaires may be used if necessary, or information may be requested from third parties. If treatment will be conducted by another team member the first intake will be a 15 minute video call with Sarah. For treatment with Sarah it will be directly a 60 minute intake interview.
  • Preparation of a treatment plan and indication (taking into account the nationally established multidisciplinary guidelines). If your care needs and services are not appropriate, we will recommend treatment elsewhere.
  • We go through the treatment plan and indication together. If agreed, treatment starts.

Waiting list times

Currently there is a 4 week wait for Sarah for an intake, treatment can begin within 2 weeks after that.

For other psychologists the times are shorter. In this instance Sarah acts as what is called a regie behandelaar and will see you for the first session and maintain an overview of the treatment but the care will be done by another psychologist.

The current wait times for an intake for this trajectory is 2 weeks for the initial intake and 2 weeks after that treatment.
